I’m not much of an AC/DC fan. Don’t love them. Don’t hate them. But they did hold my ear at different parts in my life.
One album stands out among the rest.
I was introduced to Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap more than 20 years ago. And I believe it contains two of the band’s best songs.
Aside from the title track – a fitting classic in its own right – “Ain’t No Fun (Waiting Round To Be A Millionaire)” and “Ride On” remain at the pinnacle for me.
Today’s Daytona 500 looks a lot different than it did decades ago. Although that’s a bummer for most purists of the sport, the advancements in safety that’s since altered races has proved necessary at each and every turn throughout NASCAR’s existence.

Here’s something many people may not know about me: I’ve always been a closet fan of The Cars. Call it a guilty pleasure or call it crazy, but there was something formulaic I liked about this late 1970s, early 1980s group. Was it New Wave? Was it Punk? Maybe it was a little bit of both, with a whole lot of synth pop rock mixed in there to help even things out.
While the band’s first album The Cars (1978) is packed with everything anyone needs to hear when discovering them for the first time, it’s their follow-up Candy-O (1979) that I’ve found myself spinning most in recent years. The groove of the title track is reason enough to give this one a listen.

Late Sunday night Colorado Rockies outfielder Michael Cuddyer accomplished the feat with a huge grin on his face when he belted a double down the third base line off of Manny Parra in the eighth inning of a 10-5 win at home over the Cincinnati Reds.
While with the Brewers on May 22, 2009, Parra gave up three of the hits Cuddyer would need for his first cycle (while with the Minnesota Twins) before going on to finish it off at the Metrodome with a triple off of Jorge Julio, who had played for the Rockies two years earlier.
